ROSVODOKANAL and State Corporation Rostekhnologii will work together on upgrading water supply and water disposal system in the Russian Federation. They entered into an Agreement on cooperation on December 29, 2009.

The companies intend to actively cooperate while working out state-of-the-art technologies and making special equipment for the country’s water utilities system.

The parties will also work out together investment programs and seek funding for upgrading water supply and water disposal at the state corporation’s enterprises.

According to the document, to be a success in managing water supply facilities of Rostekhnologii a joint venture will be established. It is planned to expand the subsidiary network of the joint venture encompassing the industries which are not part of the state corporation.

The topicality of the intended projects under the Agreement is confirmed by RF strategies and the world experience.

The total of 18 billion cubic meters of waste waters in RF need treatment. The wastes running through treatment facilities of Vodokanals are 82% from the total, a great part of which comes from industries. Due to technical depreciation of the treatment facilities, only 11% of wastes meet the standards. 690 billion roubles is the total funding approved  under the Water Strategies for the reconstruction, upgrading and new construction of treatment facilities up to 2020.

The state corporation Rostekhnologii was established by the Federal Law of the Russian Federation in 2007. The Sate Corporation Rostekhnologi’s target is to enhance the development, manufacturing and exporting of high tech products by providing  support to the Russian developers and manufacturers of high tech products in the internal and external markets and obtaining investments for various industries.
