Barnaul Vodokanal
Operated under Rosvodokanal's management, Barnaul Vodokanal is responsible for water supply and wastewater disposal in the town of Barnaul. The water supply system of the town and suburban population centres is a complex of engineering works, comprising two river water-intakes, 22 local artesian water-intakes, two complexes of water purification facilities, stage 2 and 3 pumping stations and water distribution networks. Extra pumping units are needed to pump water in order to boost water pressure in the networks and deliver water to consumers because the town of Barnaul has a complex geographical situation, with ground level above sea ranging from 130 to 230 m. The length of the town's water mains is 673 km, sewerage 766 km. The Comprehensive Investment Programme for 2007-2011 includes a list of measures to refurbish, upgrade and develop WSU facilities worth RUR2.8 bln. Vodokanal is also actively involved in a large-scale project of the Altai Krai administration called «Clean Water». Printable version |
